Renamed Hosh Distillery in 1814 by Thomas Macinnes.
The distillery name was changed to Glenturret Distillery in 1873. Has also been known as Glenfinch Distillery and Hoshmill Distillery.
The distillery was closed 1920’s -1957. It is now the oldest operating distillery in Scotland.
The most famous distillery mouser in the history, Towser, resided at the distillery from 1963 to 1987 – having a record score of 28,899 mice – not counting rats, rabbits, pheasants or other unwanted animals on the distillery premises.
