Founded before 1875 by Moore and Grigsby
Founded as Moore and Grigsby Distillery.
Renamed to J. B. Wathen and Brothers in 1875 when J. B. and R. N. (Nace) Wathen bought the distillery.
They later moved to Louisville and founded John B. Wathen & Bros. Co.
The distillery was closed by prohibition, and even destroyed by a fire in 1931.
In 1934 John A. Wathen bought the premises and built a larger distillery.
