Banff Distillery

Founded 1824 by James McKilligan

The original name was Mill of Banff.

In 1863 the distillery was moved to Inverboyndie, Banff, and the name was changed to Inverboyndie Distillery.

Mothballed 1932-1945.

The distillery was bombed by Luftwaffe on August 16 1941.

In 1959 an explosion made a lot of damage, but the distillery was rebuilt.

It was finally demolished in 1991.
