The distillery name was changed to Glenturret Distillery in 1875. Has also been known as Glenfinch Distillery and Hoshmill Distillery.
The distillery was closed 1920’s -1957. It is now the oldest operating distillery in Scotland.
The most famous distillery mouser in the history, Towser, resided at the distillery from 1963 to 1987 – having a record score of 28,899 mice – not counting rats, rabbits, pheasants or other unwanted animals on the distillery premises. The current DM’s are Amber and Nectar.
